Presbyterian church leaders have determined that closing the church was an act of racism. 

The Lingít community was hit hard when the community church was shuttered in a move considered racist.

Earlier this summer, the U.S. Army began the process of returning the remains of eight Indigenous children from the Carlisle School to their families across the country.

The effort continues work that cemetery restoration expert Bob Sam started in 1990s.
