I’m an expert on water quality. I’m also pretty darn good at software development. I am an expert on living in Southeast Alaska because I’ve lived almost my entire life here. And I’m also really well-versed in public process, the governmental public process.
Mayor
Beth Weldon
Candidate for Mayor
I would probably never say I’m an expert on anything. You’re always learning something, so. I know quite a bit about firefighting. I know something about fishing because that’s what I grew up with. I’ve learned quite a bit about governing with this job.
School Board
Kyle Scholl*
Candidate for School Board
I’m huge into sports. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert at anything — I’m always willing to learn new things. I recently enrolled in an online course for constitutional law. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, just trying to learn more about it.
Thom Buzard
Candidate for School Board
Mechanical work — mainly on trucks and diesels, industrial heat treatment and stress relief, pest control
Will Muldoon*
Candidate for School Board
I’m extremely knowledgeable on both city and state law, statutes and policies. I keep current on a lot of that. Alaska data and Juneau data is a hobby of mine. It’s a passion of mine. Also, it’s a weird one, but I think that good governance is a big hobby and passion of mine that I’m starting to be pretty good at. You know, I’ve been at this for the majority of my adult life, and I want to keep at it as long as I can and as long as the community will allow me to.
Ibn Bailey
Candidate for School Board
Good communicator, can take complex issues and speak to them in a common way, community service.
Aaron Spratt
Candidate for School Board
I’d have to say, you know, I hope I’m an expert in theology, but also in constitutional rights, the understanding of the Constitution and the role of our government.
Elizabeth Siddon
Candidate for School Board
My area of expertise is in linking climate change impacts to fisheries in Alaskan waters, especially in the Bering Sea. Climate change impacts include changes in the amount of sea ice, water temperatures, and food availability.
Amber Frommherz
Candidate for School Board
I’d say early childhood education as it relates to Head Start. I’m also aware of military active duty dependents and education. I’m also very in tuned with culturally relevant ways of knowing; my master’s degree is in educational studies grounded in learning the different kinds of pedagogies. I’m also witness to I guess you would say, the benefits of vocational education.
