There’s not much data on where the beluga that swim along the region’s coast are migrating from.

A recent aerial survey of the eastern Bering Sea suggests the Norton Sound beluga whale population is abundant in number.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries, or NOAA Fisheries, in conjunction with two other Alaska entities, is conducting a survey of beluga whales in Norton Sound.
